Russ Krachun was born and raised in Odessa, Ukraine. It was his parents that first noticed Russ true passion and desire of horses. As a child, while visiting his Uncle Colin’s farm, it was love at first sight! It was here that he experienced his first smell of the horse and riding bareback and learned about his ancestors the Cossacks; how they rode their horses in battle with their swords.

These childhood memories influenced Russ in his adolescence and he became interested in sport of fencing. During these next nine years, Russ developed his strong athletic ability and his dedication for this sport and he became a professional sabre fencer and awarded reserve junior champion of the whole of Ukraine. Many life lessons and skills were developed during these years.

As an adult Russ followed his dreams and immigrated to Canada with his family to develop his horsemanship. As he studied about horsemanship, he realized that the horse was often misunderstood. He decided to follow his heart and develop his own style of horsemanship using his own philosophy and his own methodology from the lessons and skills developed from his own life and experiences from the lessons he learned from the sport of fencing.

His teachings make perfect sense to both horse and human, and help to bring a mutual understanding through cooperation, confidence, respect and trust. These results enable the horse to perform manoeuvers and tasks that are asked of them without causing aggression, discomfort or abuse.

Russ Krachun Kozak Horsemanship offers philosophy and methodology, combined with quality signature horsemanship equipment and educational programs that are designed to work together. A remarkable understanding is developed between the horse and the human without using or causing aggression.

Russ’s philosophy and methodology has built him recognition throughout his clinics, seminars, lessons and training challenges. The welfare of the horse is evident throughout every aspect of his horsemanship. The Russ Krachun Kozak Horsemanship program is truly an education, and is what many say is the missing link of developing ultimate communication with our horses.

Physiology Methodology to Develop Supple Neck & Poll of the Horse

An education on how to develop a supple neck and poll of your horse using physiology methods using proper timing, repetition and methods to build muscle memory of the horses’ neck that will enable willing responses and willing attitudes. Step by step exercises are demonstrated using proper timing, repetition, and relaxation and are first introduced to the horse from the ground and then transferred to the horse under saddle. Increased timing and repetition will build muscle memory without using aggressive tools and methods. The result is a willing and responsive horse that is soft and supple in the neck and poll. Understanding physiology will help you to build your horse to become an athlete with a solid mind and supple body.
