Emergencies happen and there are only so many things you can to to help your horse while keeping yourself calm. Your Horse: Focus on Emergencies will touch on some of the more common emergencies an owner may experience. This lecture will discuss the normal and abnormal vitals of a horse, emergencies of colic, wounds, and eye, as well as touching on the importance of your veterinary staff and some preventative tips to help keep your horse a little more protected.

Jenna Goveronski, BS, CVT, CERP - owner of Vintage Springs Performance and University of Wisconsin River Falls equine lab manager.

The Minnesota Equine Veterinary Technician Networking Group (MEVTNG) formed by Minnesota veterinary technicians within the industry is striving to build knowledge, share expertise and provide educational opportunities for new and old technicians within the equine veterinary community. While our outreach focuses on building connections throughout the state among veterinary technicians it does not stop there. Our passion for education within the veterinary industry allows us to provide the opportunity to share educational opportunities and build connections out in the community as well.

If you'd like more info about becoming a veterinary technician or the networking group, visit Katie Jones at the Turner Equine Sport Medicine and Surgery booth during Expo in the Miracle of Birth Center B50.
