DNR Building Seminar Room

Join Renne Walker and Drew Fitzpatrick as they discuss the support and adoption resources available
to owners through reputable rescue organizations. Learn what support is available to those in need of
help, how to identify a reputable organization, how rescues are readied for adoption, and the adoption
approval process.
Renne Walker, founder of GRG Ranch Horse Rescue & Sanctuary, and Drew Fitzpatrick, founder of Minnesota Hooved Animal Rescue, frequently work together in their rescue efforts. Combined,
they have over 7 decades of experience with animal welfare.

Renne Walker

Renne is a seasoned horse trainer and passionate equine advocate with over three decades of
experience in the horse world, including nearly 20 years as a professional trainer. Known for her
colorful hair and fearless approach to working with “problem” and rescue horses, Renne’s
philosophy centers on true partnership—working with her horses rather than simply training
them. From teaching riding lessons to running a rescue, her journey has been defined by a deep
understanding of equine behavior, the emotional intelligence of horses and the healing potential
of human-horse connections. Her community outreach reflects her commitment to giving horses
the care, respect, and opportunities they deserve.

Despite personal hardships, Renne continues to dedicate herself tirelessly to the care and
rehabilitation of horses in need. She frequently collaborates with humane officers and county
sheriffs to rescue horses in dire conditions, working patiently to earn their trust and restore their
health. Renne’s unwavering dedication, compassion and expertise make her a trusted advocate
for horses and a passionate presence in the equestrian community.
