Krishona Martinson

Dr.
Krishona Martinson is a Professor and the Equine Extension Specialist
at the UMN. Dr. Martinson leads the UMN Extension Horse Program, which
reaches millions of horse owners and professionals annually through
in-person programming, online short courses, website articles, mobile
apps, a Facebook page, a YouTube channel, infographics and a monthly
e-newsletter. She has secured over $2 million for her applied research
program which focuses on improving horse forage utilization. Along with
her family, Dr. Martinson also owns and operates Leaning Pine Farm and
Martinson Herefords. These entities include horses shown in timed events
and direct marketing beef to the local community.

horse pasture and the five pasture best management practices iincluding mowing, resting, dragging, fertilization and weed control.
"Hay Nets and Dental and Chiropractic Health"
The
UMN has been researching the use of hay nets for years. This
presentation will summarize almost a decade of research and share new
data on how hay nets impact dental and chiropractic health.
Specifically, we will highlight the impact of hay nets on hay waste and
economics, time to hay consumption, hay usage, body weight and body
condition and several horse health parameters.
